Adult Adoptees

I am an adoptee working to support other adult adoptees and those who are/have been in kinship care or special guardianship. Whilst every experience is unique, growing up in these circumstances can have life long impacts, impacts that those who have not had this direct experience often struggle to acknowledge or comprehend.

Are you feeling angry, anxious, lost, detached or overwhelmed? Maybe you are struggling with your identity and working out who you really are? Perhaps you find the relationships around you are complex, difficult to manage or unhealthy patterns keep repeating? Are you trying to navigate the impact of a traumatic childhood? Is your chosen way of coping with these difficult feelings causing you harm? All of these feelings and experiences, and anything and everything between, are valid, meaningful and deserve space.

I am here to support you, wherever you may be on your journey and whatever your story may be.

Each person I work with has their own unique experience of adoption and living as an adoptee. And at the same time, through my own personal experience and that of working with other adoptees, I feel there is an unspoken language and implicit understanding of what being an adoptee means, that only other adoptees can truly understand.
